Phantom Blade Zero all endings
Last updated
PowerPyx’s documented Normal and True ending routes, with their quest requirements and warnings. The source-count disagreement is stated below.
Normal and True endings
PowerPyx describes two endings: the Normal ending and the True ending, also called the Perfect Ending. In its guide, the Normal ending is the default outcome if you do not finish every True-ending requirement.[1]
According to PowerPyx, fulfilling the True-ending steps replaces the Normal ending after defeating Meng Hua, the Merciful Lady of the Blossom Veil, the normal final boss. PowerPyx says the Normal ending has no trophy and the True ending awards With Heart and Blood.[1]
Game8 also lists the trophy name With Heart and Blood; the ending requirement described here follows PowerPyx’s True Ending Guide.
Which quests unlock the True ending?
PowerPyx says the True-ending requirement is to complete every quest marked with a purple icon in the story menu. Gold-icon quests are the mandatory main story. Check which side tales become missable in each region before progressing.[1]
The first cutoff: entering Mirage Estate
PowerPyx places the first cutoff at entry to Mirage Estate in Pangzhen, at the end of The Four Serpent Houses. First obtain an item from each of the White, Black and Red Serpent Houses. The game warns you if you try to enter Mirage Estate with required True-ending quests unfinished. For the chapter order, see the chapter-by-chapter walkthrough.[1]
Ten quests before Mirage Estate
PowerPyx lists these ten purple-icon quests, in this order, to complete before entering Mirage Estate:[1]
Bloodline Awakening and the five Long Pillars
PowerPyx describes Bloodline Awakening as the final requirement after entering Mirage Estate. The quest completes after all five Long Pillar encounters; see where the first Long Pillar is in Weeping Creek Valley. Its trophy roadmap lists the five locations below.[1]
The final warning at The Last Chance
PowerPyx places the final warning at The Last Chance Bell in Mount Soulrend. The game displays it even if every requirement is complete. Once you pass it, you cannot leave the final boss area until the ending is finished.[1]
Where ending-count claims differ
PowerPyx describes two endings. Community claims of eight endings remain unverified here, and we have not found a first-party source that states a number. We present PowerPyx’s documented route without treating either ending count as settled.[1]
